Turkey Day

Black Friday November 21st, 2007

Most everyone knows the origins of Thanksgiving. Pilgrims, Native Americans and really severe winter. But did you know that turkey contains Tryptophan?

Uh Oh! No video. You will need the Flash player and Javascript enabled to watch this show.

Happy Thanksgiving! In advance.

Most everyone knows the origins of Thanksgiving: Pilgrims, Native Americans, and a really severe winter. If you didn’t know that… I don’t know what to say.

But did you know that turkey contains tryptophan which is known to produce serotonin which regulates your sleep cycles.

Mmm… sleepy… Deliciously sleepy…

That combined with overeating just about everything in sight contributes to a metabolic condition known as fat dogidit. You see, when you eat blood leaves your brain and goes down to your stomach to aid in digestion. Combine that with your new serotonin levels and the fact that you just doubled your body weight and the only thing left to do is to lie down on the floor and pass out. Zzzzzz…

The position people typically end up in is lying on one side so you don’t have to support the enormous weight of your new belly. It’s what gives the condition its name. You look like a big, fat dog.

[Whistles] Come here, boy!

Roll over! Play dead! Stay! Who’s a fat doggy?

Because it’s Thanksgiving everyone knows that once you get up from your nap it’s time for pie. But did you know that eating sugary foods can cause your brain to produce large levels of serotonin which regulates your sleep cycles?

Zzzzz…

Tomorrow’s the day that you sit down with friends and family and eat more than you should. More than it’s good for you. Probably more than you eat in three normal days.

But it’s all so delicious! I just want one more taste.

Thanksgiving’s suppose to be about gratitude. So in our family growing up you showed how thankful you really were by how many plates of food you could eat. We didn’t get seconds, we gave thanks.

I’m thankful for pie and tryptophan and you, our loyal viewers. Happy
Thanksgiving. We’ll see you all next Monday.

Next year, I’m going to experience Thanksgiving the way the original Pilgrims did! You know, sit out in the cold, eat gamy turkey and rock hard maize and just be grateful to be alive! While you all will be enjoying perfectly roasted turkey…

That’ll be great.

Three things, 1. This Thanksgiving was my birthday 2. My best friends birthday should have been Thanksgiving next year but it was skipped due to leap year. 3. You should do a show on how messed up the year after the Indians shared their food with us. It's pretty messed up.

Yeah, I actually heard that there isn't enough tryptophan in turkey to put you to sleep, what actually puts you to sleep on thanksgiving is the huge amount of calories that you take in.

I'm just glad that I'm going to be home for Thanksgiving this November, instead of at a friend's house 5,000 miles away.

I'm thankful for this website. While you're celebrating the original thanksgiving, don't forget to eat fish!

Turkey day more like sleepy day! At least I play in the turkey bowl in the morning!

Sorry, we're getting way too much spam.
