You live in a democracy. Actually you live in a democratic republic, but if you tell people that they’ll just disagree with you. But they’re wrong.
Anyway in a democratic republic,
Democracy!
See what I mean? You get to vote and influence the way government runs.(
Life’s the same way, you get a chance to vote for or against things all the time.
How?
You vote with your feet, or your wallet.
What?
You show your support of something by contributing to it or participating in it. It’s not just once a year on Election Day, it’s every minute of your life.
If you don’t like the movie, get up and leave in the middle, ask for your money back on the way out.
If you think pro-athletes make too much, stop going to games, stop buying the things they endorse.
If you’re tired of getting over charged at the grocery store, shop somewhere else.
If you know it’s bad, don’t go to it, don’t do it, don’t support it, don’t pay for it, don’t go along with it.
And encourage everyone else you know not too as well.
This works in reverse too, if you find something good or cool support it.
If you like the music, don’t steal a copy, buy it.
If your server did a good job, give him a good tip.
If an informative internet show is worth while, donate.
Sure you’re just one person that can’t change the world. But that shouldn’t stop you from voting.
Cause if you just sit back and take it, who knows what your gunna get.
When everyone votes with their time, their attention, their support, their feet, their wallet. We get just that much closer to what we really want.
If you don’t vote, your still voting, just a vote for not caring for what everyone else votes for you.
Just make sure when you vote with your feet you leave your socks on, it’s kind of smelly if you don’t.

My blog post for today was about WYOTK! I linked here and encouraged my friends and family to check it out :) I guess maybe that's voting with my fingers. ...that's not enough to get me into [22], is it?Allan
It's so true and people don't seem to realize the obvious fact that they are, in fact, supporting things when they pay money for them and/or don't complain about them if they DON'T LIKE or disagree with whatever it might be!nick

Hooray for Capitalism!
When banks compete, you win.
Pretty much whenever any companies compete, you win.

My husband flips out when people call this country a democracy. He loves your commentaries. I vote all the time with my feet. I find that my vote is often seconded, thirded, and so on until the place goes out of business. I guess they weren't paying attention or didn't ... moreMeandering
