Eric writes: “Why does Orange Juice taste SOOOOOooooo badly right after you brush your teeth?”

And yes that was the right amount of o’s. You have to have just so many.

Thanks for saying badly Eric, it shows you care.

Inside your toothpaste are lots of exciting man-made sounding ingredients like sodium lauyrl sulfate, how do I know it’s man-made? Because I’ve never seen an sodium lauyrl sulfate tree.

Actually we know it’s man-made because it’s a detergent, a man-made detergent, we looked it up you just have to trust us.

SLS is a foaming agent that helps evenly distribute the paste all over the inside of your mouth, now having a foaming agent in toothpaste isn’t really vital or important it’s more psychological.

Were all brain washed, foamy little bubbles means some kind of magical scrubbing chemical reaction must be taking place right?

Oh, bubbles.

That’s why they slap it in there, cuz bubbles make you feel clean.

[Suction Sound]

Like most man-made products SLS has a side affect. It suppresses the taste receptors for sweetness and salt on your tongue.

And with less sweet and less salt, it amplifies the tastes of bitter and sour.

Yummy.

Now it all comes together, orange juice while it’s normally sweet contains a lot of citric acid that can taste pretty nasty when all the sweet’s being blocked.

But you don’t have to use toothpaste that contains sodium lauyrl sulfate, you can go to a natural health food store and buy one that doesn’t.

I’ve also heard that strong mint flavored toothpaste can be a contributing factor.

Try eating a really, really, really, really, really strong mint and then drinking juice.

You know when you have a mint water tastes fresher and cooler? Well when you taste juice it just tastes weirder.

Okay Eric you have two choices, you can purchase non-foaming, fruity tasting tooth paste or you can do what your dentists been telling you what to do for years, brush and floss after the meal. That’ll take care of the problem.

Me? I’m just gunna keep brushing with foamy paste and blame the orange juice manufacture for making the horrible tasting juice they sell.

I need bubbles. To feel clean.

the active ingredient sodium laurel sulfate that suppresses the sweetness receptors on the tongue has recently been found to kill the herpes virus on contact. visit the site here. http://www.best-herpes-treatments.com/kill-herpes-by-toothpaste.html

Question: Shouldn't Eric's question use the word "bad" instead of "badly", b/c the o.j. isn't doing the actual tasting? It might be called a "reflexive adjective." (Disclaimer: I haven't had English class for a couple of decades. Yikes!) Kinda' like "The girl looks beautiful." ... more
