Skyfire has quite an imagination. Rainbows are a refraction of light through water. It requires distance to see it….just like the mirage of water.

I have most definitely seen the end of the rainbow.

We were driving down the road toward the rainbow; my dad, my brother and I. The rainbow began to shrink down until it was only in the road in front of us. When we passed through it, it disappeared and reappeared behind us, growing in size as it grew more distant.

True story.

I saw this a few days ago but haven’t had time to comment until now with a brand new baby to take care of =) Loved the accents and the St. Patrick’s day topic. We dressed in green and picked “shamrocks” from a friend’s backyard…that’s the extent of our St. Patrick’s day celebrating. Great video!

No fights here =). Hahaha, I love the voices you put in there. I wanted you to say “names Winn, Brett Winn” but you didn’t and it would have been halirious! Not that the video isn’t halirious anyway! And Carolyn I think his Shaun Connery accent sounds more like Jim Carey. His irish accent is pretty good

I’ll be honest, I’ve been sick and stuck at home, so I totally missed St. Patrick’s Day. Which is sad for me b/c I’m Irish. Oh well, I don’t drink green beer anyways. I was wondering what it was that made St. Patrick a saint… I hear he cleared out all the snakes in Ireland, but seriously?

It’s true – I once stumbled onto what I thought was the end of a rainbow. But since there was no gold anywhere to be found, I can only assume that it was an optical illusion and not the actual end. The *true* end must have been some weird subterranean spectrum of ghostly light illuminating the limestone caverns that snake through the earth in my area, eagerly waiting to become mischievous potholes to ensnare the unwary.

Every St. Patrick’s day my brothers and I watch Boondock Saints, which is, despite the unusual omission of little people of any variety (and of Sean Connery), still a fun tradition.

It has been a long time since I saw Darby O’Gill and the Little People. The thing I remember most about that movie was not Sean Connery, but the screaming Banshee (I don’t think I spelled that right). That thing was freaky!

When St. Patrick lived, there hadn’t been any church splits, so all Christians were Roman (or wherever the Papacy was located at the moment) Catholic. When the churches split, those who still liked the idea of dead-people-as-role-models kept the saints that had already been named, but stopped adding people to the roster– so St. Patrick is a Catholic saint, an Anglican saint, an Orthodox saint, etc.

I love it. Every year, on St. Paddy’s Day, we watch…wait for it…wait for it…”Darby O’Gill and the Little People”. I love Sean Connery in that. He shouldn’t regret it. It was cute. Oh, and we also watch “The Gnome Mobile” which is set in my neck of the woods (pun totally intended). It’s a tradition. Like the Cornbeef and Cabbage.

RedPeppers is correct that St. Patrick was not Anglican. He was Roman Catholic. But he is accepted as a Saint in the Anglican church as well as Roman Catholic church. Anglican Saint was just more fun to say. Sorry if we created any confusion. Please don’t fight with anyone over it.
