It’s not today it’s tomorrow. But if we told you then it would be too late. So everybody suit up!

Ian I can support you on that one, recently fuel prices here in the U.K have gone up dramatically for seaming no reason as fuel reserves are still at the same levels….ish.
Its currently at around £110 for unleaded and around £120 for diesel. which is about $2.18 for unleaded and $2.38 for diesel.
It’s a good job I don’t need a car…. yet.

Just a thought: have you ever heard the expression, “In the US 200 years is a long time, and in Europe 200 miles is a long way”? That might explain the difference in biking vs. driving between the US and other countries. I wish that I could bike to work, but the reality is that for most of us our commute to work is on interstates/highways/tollways/freeways and around 30-45 minutes. It is just not feasible or safe to bike to work.
I wish there was a viable alternative to the millions of single drivers going to work, but until they have viable public tansportation that actually works for everyone, we’re going to have people cheating in the carpool lane.

I never go to work, ha!
Well, mostly because I’m a student. But I always take my bicycle for a ten minute spin.
Apart from that, here in the Netherlands riding a bike is the most common way of transportation. We don’t even need a bike to work day.

It’s Friday, I’m home and picked up my podcasts and errr… well this was about eight hours late at least. My work is 14 miles away and today was the first day it rained on an otherwise hot and sunny week.
I agree with Ingrid, I heard on the Daily Source Code recently that the UK is the fourth most expensive place to buy fuel while Americans complain about high fuel prices when America in the 111th most expensive place to buy fuel! In other words, fuel is cheap in the U.S, and American incomes on average are not that much lower than in the UK.

deelighted, I really didn’t mean for it to come across in that way. Maybe I should have used more :)’s and ;)’s, because I was basically just joking about how I hear from over there a lot gas is expensive while we have it way worse, because in whatever way you put it, our prices are outrages. Also I wasn’t really meaning to say that the poster I responded was complaining, it was more of a generalisation of what I hear from over there all the time…
I’m sorry if I offended anybody, when I read back my respons I realise it came across more hostile than joking how I meant it to be…

Oh, well don’t I feel silly now. I aslo enjoy your posts Deelighted. I didn’t even read that post above. I just thought that when you said “negative comment (above)” you were talking about me. I thought it was weird. Anyway, you have a great weekend! Enjoy your bike ride!

Ok, so i’m sitting here in my pool of sweat and I thought…boy arn’t i lucky to be a member of [22]. I mean there are people sweating on bikes all over the place, but a very few can claim to be sweating it out as a member of [22]. Don’t they wish they were me ;-)

I wasn’t referring to you, meandering. I was referring to the gas prices in America vs. other countries comment. It came across as not very courteous to another poster who didn’t seem to be complaining. Actually, I felt the person was being thankful. I felt it was inappropriate. Meandering, you’re just funny. I laugh at your commentary all the time.

I wasn’t being negative, it was just a joke. I apologize if I offended any bike riders who like to wear speedos. My sincerest apologies.

I don’t get the negative comment (above), why be negative about something so positive? But, anyhow, biking is great for the heart. It’s also cheaper to repair the bike than the car and it doesn’t cost fuel, but it burns fat galore. Right up there next to walking, but it’s faster. More of us should do it!! Go bicycle!! I work with a lot of people who ride bikes to work. My commute is over 20 miles, but I have thought about it. I would have the leave about 2 hours before work, but it would be fun, provided some idiot in an SUV doesn’t run me over in their rush to get to work, or whatever they have to do.

Why is everyone picking on me? So I like to ride my bike in a speedo, so sue me … wait don’t I had to move into a new state because of a similar lawsuit.

The guy in the speedo was likely training for an IRON MAN where you swim, ride and run! LOL

I’m sorry Lodinkinni, but, you guys (Amaricans) really should NOT complain about gasprices. Really, for “fun” I calculated what we paid.
Over here (Netherlands) the cheapest gasstation you pay 1.519 euro for a liter. 3.785 liter is a gallon so that means we pay 5.75 euro for a gallon.
With the dollar being at 1.5474 for a euro, that basically means we pay 8.90 dollar! for 1 gallon!
So please, stop complaining ;)

Did that just break your no leg shot rule? I thought I read something about that a while back, but I could have gotten it wrong. Ride safely and don’t forget extra deodorant. I’m sure “cameraman” will thank you for it.

Spandex, speedo and oil…?… The only thing missing is the 10 pounds of gold chains covering his massive chest hair! LOL

I actually bike to work all the time, too. Granted, as mentioned during the lunch date, I don’t have a license, but….I like to think of it as my own personal commitment to the environment.
Really though, bikings more about a commitment to something much more personal = my wallet. Here in jersey, we have it relatively easy, at around 3.40 a gallon…but it still hurts.
So, until we get teleportation machines that are free to own and use…its the six mile trek for me each day.
Cheers, and remember: Biking on the wrong side of the street, through a busy intersection: Bad idea. Really bad.

Ok, I’m hitting the pedals tomorrow, well i hit them everyday but i’ve been slacking lately. For all those that know…900 East isn’t level like the trail camera boy takes everyday. But who am I to complain? I watched the bicycle seat episode and I will not have numb bum when i’m done.
